Project #1 A.K.A. I love Sara Schroeder Clark

My friend Sara and I go way back. WAYYY back, like to 3rd grade way back. I have so many memories with this girl. SHe and I lived right down the street from each other and I would walk or bike to Sara's house a lot when I was a kid. Mainly because her house was the half way house between mine and our other friends, Jessica's house (They've been friends since they were toddlers, crazy I know), but also because she was allergic to cats so she couldn't really come to my house. And I was using her for her pool and trampoline... Just kidding!
Anyway, Sara and I, and some of our other friends came up with this crazy idea to start making movies. Unfortunately I had just heard of Mad Cow's disease and had much cow memorabilia to implement. Thus, The Mad Cow Series was born. I can't go into details because I made a pact to not share it's secrets and it's a little bit embarrassing.
In Middle School, Sara, Jessica, and I all had our lockers next to each other and often as we could, I loved being able to go to my locker and slip a note in their lockers, and vice versa.
Sara's nicknames will always be Sae Sae and Schrodeghan to me since I was Mae Mae or the Mad Cow.
After Middle School, Sara and I started meeting new people. She met Josh Clark, her future husband, and I made more friends to compensate for the lack of boyfriend. One thing I will never forget Sara for is her sticking up for me when some of our other friends, let's call them Tweedledee and Tweedledum, sent me letters saying that they were worried for my soul and that I was becoming immodest and that immodest people go to hell, blah blah blah. I remember feeling so hurt and betrayed and calling Sara and Jessica and crying in their ears for forever about it. I remember hearing from a mutual friend that they both chewed out those two stupid girls. We never talked about it, but Sara and Jessica, thank you.
As High School went on, I saw Sara less and less but I never felt like she and I were uncomfortable around each other when we would hang out. Now that we've been long graduated and she is married and starting her own family (how's that for pregnancy rumors, Sara?), and I have caught up in work and school, and my manfriend(s), I see her here and there, but holy cow does it get out of control when we get together.

My notes from Sara, a note I wrote to here and of course and embarrassing picture of us from Girls Camp. I sent them but have yet to hear if she got them or not.

Sara's Bachelorette Party. I will not show you the other pictures from this night, Let's just say Martinelli's makes for a very weird evening....

Crazier things have happened than us raiding her old dance costumes and putting as many on as we can.

If you watch Lost, you will understand....
Sara, YOU are my constant.

NEXT WEEK
Project #2

Find a recipe for key lime pie. If you’ve already got a favorite recipe for key lime pie, even better. Make the pie. Take pictures of the pie. Invite some friends over, and take pictures of them eating the pie. Have a friend take a picture of you eating the pie.
Next, get a box and some key limes. Put the limes in the box, along with a handwritten copy of the key lime pie recipe and the pictures that were taken of your key lime pie party. Mail off the box to a friend.

The Right Time is Now

It's incredible to me that some people can blog every day. I am not one of them. I might blog one a month and then quit for six months and then start again... However, I finally found something that makes me feel like I might be able to do this blogging thing once a week for a year.
Today, it is Sunday, December 4th, 2011. The first Sunday of December and the first day it hit me that Christmas was coming. By the first Sunday of December 2012, I will have posted 52 entries.
The ideas for these entries came from this great blog I ran across on StumbleUpon (Warning : highly addicting. More than Pinterest). The blog is called 52 Ordinary Projects. It has been published and is a great book as well. The point of the book is to start making up projects, It is as simple as that.
I am the queen of projects, mainly cleaning and painting, but it would be nice to expand more and do more things that other people will see, Hence, my plan to do every single one of these projects. They most likely will not be in order, especially depending on the availability of resources, friends, etc.
Mostly, I just want to know if I can do it. One of the quotes that has stuck with me for the past couple months was by Olivia Wilde, "Set out to change the world and don't stop until you do." I don't know why this struck a chord with me. I've always had it set in my brain that whatever I do, I will do it big and will be big. Not fat, just successful.
However, I've tried starting clubs, projects, etc. that I'm passionate about, but about a couple months in, I get overwhelmed and frustrated with how things are panning out. I want to try that again, and I'm hoping this project will help me develop better commitment skills. You're welcome future husband and future projects.
I'll start my first project this week and blog about it on Sunday along with my plans for the coming weeks project.
Wish me luck.
This weeks project is...
Find your old letters. Gather up all of the letters that one of your oldest friends has sent to you over the years. Photocopy the letters. Put the photocopies in an envelope, and then mail off the envelope to your friend.
